How long does credentialing take? Insurance states that credentialing takes around 90-120 days depending on many factors and variables. This could be longer or shorter depending on the insurance company.

Can you guarantee I'll be accepted by a payer? No, unfortunately we cannot. It is up to the insurance company directly. No credentialing specialist is able to promise you this.

What information will you need from me? We will send you an email requesting the documents and information that we need from you, but in general, we will need basic information about the practice and the provider(s) such as legal names, NPI / Tax ID numbers, phone / fax / email for practice and billing (sometimes different), servicing and mailing address (sometimes different), provider CAQH number, social security number, date of birth, Provider’s certification/license relevant to the credentialing that we are doing for the provider (issue date, expiration date, state, certificate/license number), a copy of your signed W9 Form with a date of the current year, office hours, and several other questions will be asked of you pertaining to your practice.

Do you credential providers nationwide? Yes.

Can you help if I've already started the process? Yes, but the credentialing service fee will be the same as if we handled the credentialing process from the beginning.

Do you handle recredentialing? Yes.

Can you credential multiple providers in one practice? Yes.
 

How will I receive updates? All communication from Shelkey Credentialing will be via email.
 

What happens after I submit the intake form? We will review it and email you a list of the information and documents that we require.
